Today, our world seems divided from almost every aspect, and in challenging times, people turn to their family, friends and community for comfort and support. Despite “social distancing” our religious communities remain a “place” to come together in worship and love to support one another in times of need.

In the Bible, Acts 4:32 says, “All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had.”

Believers “sharing everything they have” is hard to imagine, and even more now, in the midst of stay-at-home orders and coronavirus restrictions, it can seem unachievable. How do we come together as one and live out the instructions given to us in the Bible?

We can come together by finding common ground.

While we will not all agree on social and political issues, there is one area that deeply matters to each one of us – our health. There is a community of health-conscious individuals and families who take this matter seriously, and are empowered to make their own decisions about their healthcare. This Christian community allows us to live as a like-minded group of people and share our resources. It’s a powerful way to live.

Liberty HealthShare is a supportive community who commits to bearing one another’s burdens in prayer, encouragement, and financial support. By emphasizing good stewardship of their bodies and healthcare spending, they empower members to stay in good health, budget for medical needs, and reduce the overwhelming complexity of navigating our nation’s current medical care system.

Healthcare sharing is a process where individuals share one another’s medical expenses. Membership is voluntary, and members care for one another by committing to sending in monthly contributions based on their membership program. These contributions become ‘shares’ that help others in their time of need.

This is similar to the concept of biblical “sharing’ that began in the early church, where people lived out the biblical command to love their neighbor as themselves and share what they had with others. Healthcare sharing is a ministry of stewardship and sharing. And being a part of a sharing community is fulfilling.

For Liberty HealthShare members, this Christian way of caring for themselves and others takes place inside ShareBox. Where members manage their healthcare expenses, ask for prayer and send well wishes to other members during their time of need. In times like these, we could all use some support from our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.

Healthcare sharing is not insurance, but rather it is the Christian option in an ever-changing healthcare landscape. Healthcare sharing ministries such as Liberty HealthShare are nonprofit organizations, meaning they don’t have reserves of money. What is sent in by members is fully shared into other members’ medical expenses. Anyone is welcome to be a part of this generous community.

Members only need to agree to a statement of shared beliefs. Our personal right to worship, our spiritual duty to maintain a healthy lifestyle, and our fundamental right to care for our health is the foundation of how we share.

Liberty HealthShare is a nonprofit organization focused on people, so you can feel good knowing that your monthly healthcare ‘share’ will help another person. Liberty is growing its community of like-minded people all across the country! Our healthsharing programs start as low as $199 per month and are available to fit your healthcare needs and family size.
